Mother’s Day Community Service

The JJSSCC Community Service Committee delivered Mother’s Day Gift Bags to Mothers at the South Suburban Family Shelter in Homewood. The bags consisted of pajamas, lip gloss, hand sanitizer, body wash and lotion and a handwritten Motherโ€™s Day card and chocolate. Also the mothers will receive flowers ๐Ÿ’. Our hearts are full as MM Marianne Powell recounted the following story:

“While shopping today a lady overheard me telling another shopper why I had so many toiletries. I told her that it was for ladies at the shelter and our organization just wanted to be a blessing and give back….The lady proceeded to tell me she use to live in a shelter and itโ€™s people like us who make their lives a little brighter. She too wanted to be a blessing and she gave a cash donation. My eyes immediately filled with tears and I told her she didnโ€™t have to do that. She said, No, this was something God wanted her to do. So I put the donation in a card and will be gifting it to the South Suburban Family Shelter.”

Kudos to our AMAZING Community Service Committee led by Chair Anita Michelle Hemp-Anderson and project lead Marianne Powell. The spirit to give and be a blessing…no matter how large or small the blessing…always impacts others in so many ways. So #JJSSCCProud of this Committee and the huge hearts of our chapter! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’—#JJSSCCCares
